As the weather begins to warm up, I wanted to brighten up our space with a fun new wall hanging. For supplies, I made two quick stops to Home Depot for a wooden dowel and Michael's Arts & Crafts for some yarn and dye. I then cut what felt like 100 pieces of yarn to my desired length. After that, I used a basic lark's head knot (you might call it a cow's hitch) to attach the yarn to the dowel. I wanted the dye pattern to resemble a sunset in the mountains, so I choose colors that would give me that feel. Using a foam brush, I carefully painted the yarn with the dye, working in sections from top to bottom. Once I finished, I left the piece to dry overnight. While this project is simple, it did take some time getting the dye just how I wanted. The extra time was worth it though, it really made a difference!
