Our Cardboard Playhouse is a beloved spot in our home, so we decided to give it a fun coat of Christmas charm to help make things feel more festive! We applied a quick coat of brick red paint, added some construction paper cut into fun holiday shapes, and we’ve been celebrating ever since! The holidays may be different this year, but we’re committed to making the most of it! 

Exactly one year ago, I built my daughter a playhouse out of an oversized cardboard box. It was great, but she quickly outgrew it. I decided to try my hand at another design. Maybe add some paint and throw in a fireplace. They say to dress for the job you want, right? Well, build the cardboard house you want to live in someday! Not cardboard though, like real materials...oh, nevermind.
A few notes:

• Make sure the cardboard is thick, especially if you are going taller and cutting out windows. 
• Paint will warp cardboard. 
• Re-enforce weak spots because your toddler will find them and quickly test them. 
• Stock up on hot glue because you will use ALL of it.
• Speaking of hot glue, fingerprints are over rated. (Ouch) 
• If you try to do it all in one night, you will fall asleep the next day and won't enjoy watching your little one play in this new home.
