A delicious Chocolate Frosting recipe that is sweet but not too sweet.

1 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted, plus more as needed
1/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
170 g dark chocolate (bittersweet or semisweet), melted and slightly cooled
1/4 cup heavy cream
Pinch of salt
In the bowl, beat butter until pale and fluffy. Add half of the powdered sugar and beat until well combined, then add the other half and beat until smooth. Add cocoa powder and beat until completely creamy and smooth. Mix in vanilla and melted chocolate until combined. Add heavy cream, a bit at a time, until desired consistency. Add more powdered sugar if necessary, until frosting is spreadable. Add salt, to taste, to cut sweetness.
Use immediately or store in the fridge, covered, for up to 3 days. Before using, bring to room temperature and whisk by hand until smooth.
