Hello, my name is Jessica Anderson! I’m a Mother who can't sit still, a producer of awesome projects, and a pretty clever kitchen improviser. I love discovering new ideas and sharing them with anyone who wants to play along!
This website, MAMA LOVES TO, is a collection of successful projects and recipes that I wanted to share with the world! Everything here is a representation of things I absolutely love. This includes crafting parties, eating desserts before dinner, and making people laugh. This isn't only a space for me to share; I know there are a ton of creative mamas out there, and I want to hear about your ideas! I'd love to showcase them!
I’ve always been a creative person; always drawn to the next project almost immediately after finishing whatever I'd been working on. A couple of years ago, after giving birth to my daughter, that stopped. I felt creatively lost. My mind had evolved into a "Mom brain"; a beautiful, multitasking, but overtly safe "Mom brain." I needed to rediscover that wonderful, take no BS, risk-taking brain that got me into this new Mom role in the first place.
As the fog of being a new Mama began to lift, I found myself drawn to baking. Some of my favorite memories from my youth are of me just standing in the kitchen while my Stepmom prepared something tasty. I always wanted to be by her side to chop, peel, mix, or taste test. If I'm being completely honest, it was 100% about the taste testing. With those memories in mind, I set a goal to bake once a week, no matter if I failed or succeeded. As it turns out, the path to growing my waistband helped guide me back to that brazen woman who walks through fire first, then figures out how to put it out after all the hair on her body is gone. I missed her. Welcome back! Stay away from my kid.
With a renewed sense of creativity (along with extra time on my hands), I dove headfirst into making things again, this website included!
